Is Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) a Process or a Program

There are many ways to implement PPAP. 2 common ways to implement PPAP are

  • Process
  • Program

Our experience suggests that it is both.

When viewed purely as a Program/Project, the execution of program projects and tasks usually is not visible and there is very little support for workflow and collaboration that is needed to successfully complete PPAP.

When viewed purely as a process it is slightly better if it can be properly supported with a good collaboration, workflow, production information management system.

Z PDS offers the best of both worlds. It is possible possible to implement PPAP as a process with discrete activities that make up the process. Or is it possible to implement it as a program (with projects and tasks), with the tasks themselves driving collaborating processes and supporting information management.
